Snowfall and Theology...
Though my sins are as scarlet
they shall be white as snow,
Though my heart plays the harlot
Your name you still bestow.
Love covers a multitude of sins
as snow covers the ground,
Though my heart plays the prodigal
I was lost but now I am found.
You demonstrated your love to me
as I lived in sin and enmity,
That while I was your enemy
You died my death to set me free.
Cursed the one upon the tree
the Scripture makes it plain,
But blessed the one who lives by faith
as ground receives the rain.
Works could never earn this gift
they are as filthy rags
By grace through faith in Christ alone
we're rescued from the crags.
So as I peer through windowpane
and see the snow alight
I am reminded of sin's stain
and wrongs were set aright.
So I am crucified with Christ
yet I no longer live
For He is now my light and life
my all to Him I give.
